Maria Montessori and The Montessori Method

A question we are often asked is, "What exactly does it mean to be a Montessori school?"

Montessori philosophy is built upon the idea that children develop and think differently than adults. The Montessori Method focuses on the individuality of each child, always maintaining respect for their interests and needs.

Help Me Do It Myself

CHMS programs are wholly based in the Montessori Philosophy and focus on the development of each child's full potential. We rely on specially trained Montessori teachers, concrete Montessori-developed teaching materials and a well-defined curriculum to prepare an environment in which each child is allowed to learn and develop at his or her own pace, allowing the child to maintain their natural joy of learning.

The three-year age grouping found in our classrooms provides a wide range of benefits available only in this style of education. We know now, after a century of Montessori education, that one of its greatest benefits comes from assisting children through helping them "learn how to learn."

What do children who love to learn do when they grow up?  They become successful, accomplished adults contributing to a better world!  Investing in your child's education now is an investment for the future
